Chicago Style은 각주 및 내주의 두 가지 방식을 제공한다. 각주(notes and bibliography)는 문학, 역사, 예술 등 인문학 분야에서 선호하고, 내주(author-date)는 자연과학, 사회과학 분야에서 선호한다
